YNO You Are Not Us

Personal art project started in 2019. It’s based on artists’ philosophy and study of nature and human relationships.

This project means: You – are not us. You, as a human, are part of nature, but You are not US (nature) because life and nature on our planet are one of the main themes in Elimel Artworks.

People are part of nature and nature is a part of human life. For a long time, people and trees evolved relationships, but many people forget it.

There is a breach between nature and humans nowadays, and that’s why we are not so much anymore a part of nature, but rather a part of technology and business. Nature strikes, evolves, and changes. People also change. Is it a war who is better? Nature wins anyway, cause Nature knows who she is, but people are forgotten (some people are awakening), and feel that we are part of Earth (Cause we have a body and other chemical elements) and part of the spiritual (cause we have a soul).

Nature’s law has a name – Oma. Nature’s law rules everything, what is on Earth and related galaxies. Nature’s law is under Life’s Law, endless moving, looking for new and more effective ways. Under Life’s Law are elements – soil, water, air and fire.

The genuine energy of Creation and Existence is pure unconditional love. The more we focus on how we should care about Earth, the more sadness we will feel, cause Earth have a lot of it.  Instead of spending energy on worries, send love to the Earth and she will send it back to you.

Or will Earth and Nature destroy us all in the end? Does nature always wins? She have power over us for sure, is it why some people fears it and try to use and kill it first? Cause they are scared of becoming the void?

Phoenix

First Lockdown. Windy day. The days before we were in the garden, cutting the trees and then making a big fire. After what I thought about having a picture of myself in the fireplace.

I imagined myself as phoenix, and it’s a new beginning. That we come from ashes and into ashes we turn. So I will join them now, I will try to feel. Become more me, become new me.

Earth is in our hands

Nature is burning down in our hands, it is a result of our deeds and it is our karma. We are still holding it in our hands, but our hands are also starting to burn.

What do we do to extinguish the fire or do we keep watching how everything is destroyed.

This artwork was planned as 4 different cycle images. The three of them are not finished.

Immortal love

White as the light and purity, but because it has red eyes, it means that it’s not actually a living soul. Black as the death and darkness, because it’s lying on the knees, it shows me that darkness loved the light, but now it’s dead or at least asleep. On the leg, on the body of the darkness, we see a hole. Inside the hole there is a galaxy. For me, it symbolizes that it is the same energy in everything – cosmic energy.

The location is also symbolic as well as the crown of the darkness. Wood.

The love between two is not healthy, but it exists and they can feel it until one of them dies. Like humans and trees.

Necrosis

How fast seasons disappear. For example, my favorite is autumn, and it becomes shorter every year.

As in this image, the season is the main character and it is shocked that she will soon be gone or become wooden, as her legs have already dissapeared.

Every year we see how seasons and weather change. Sometimes so fast that even trees can’t react. It can be one week of rain, the second week when it is +15 and sunny, and on the third week it starts to snow. Abnormal, unpredictable not only for humans, but also for nature herself.

Hunt

It was inspired by the fairytale “Little Red Riding Hood”. I was reading a book to my child and then I saw an image of how the wolf chooses grandmothers’ dresses. I totally disagreed with it, because in real life people are trying wolfskin on themselves. Ultimately, the wolf will die if he doesn’t try.

Red hoods are wearing skin of another animal, but want more.

For fun, for fur, not because they actually need it, but just because they can and it is also as a design element or fashion element. Red hoods don’t decrease the population of wolves, do not reuse materials, but kill animals in groups and for fun.

One thing is to fight for life as equals with animals, but the other is for money, pleasure, riches, fashion, and domination. Wolf’s soul is looking at her body, because she-wolf is dead. Surely she also has family and kids. But who cares?

Survive the swan

Birds can’t adapt as fast as people. Even people’s genetics can’t adapt in a month. It takes years and decades. So birds are dying because they can’t adapt, but shall they?

Why do we build electrical lines, knowing tat these are the places where birds are nesting? We should not do that. We are consciously harming animals.

In the picture a swan, climbs out of the suitcase full of feathers. For me, it symbolizes that if we leave something or someone half-alive, hoping it somehow survives, it is destined to die.

Human needs water as much as plants do. We are similar, plants are part of us, and humans are the part of nature.

Colored strokes represent water. Polluted rivers cause damage not only to people but also to industry. That’s why colored rivers flow over the flowers and the “head”.
